Life on the Fundo offers infinite possibilities for tourists. If you have come to seek an adventure, think about returning to the 19th century. The times were difficult but fascinating. The bread was made in an ancient and rustic oven and the food was prepared over a wood fire. Presently, we maintain this tradition, cooking with wood and using fruit from our groves. A unique biodiversity surrounds us. Because of this, Fundo San Jose organizes tours to the jungle according to the time of year, in order to observe the multicolored flora and fauna which extends throughout the place. “The jungle is calling, listen…” they say.

Orchids: those misty queens of the forest. The Chanchamayo valley is perhaps a true paradise for the botanists in Peru. It’s the color and beauty of the orchids covering the entire jungle which turn the scenery into exotic magic. The flowers, which are endemic here and grow natively, are the true queens of the valley.

Bird Watching Observation Point. Experience one of the forms of ecotourism which is becoming popular all over the world. This is one of the most stunning bird observation points in Peru.

Insect Watching. The beetles and butterflies are perhaps the most striking occupants of the jungle cover. The farm offers insect-watching hikes depending upon the season. You’ll have the occasion to admire the most exotic beetles and butterflies of the world as well as other insects.

Sky Watching. Lovers of astronomy will encounter here an ideal place to observe the celestial dome in its total splendor. It is, perhaps, one of the few places in Peru where one can appreciate the Milky Way in its total magnitude.
