Trip Duration

The trip to La Merced takes approximately 6 hours by car and 9 hours by bus.

The highway crosses the coast, mountains and jungle of Peru. Therefore, it is recommended that you come prepared for the change in climate and especially for the high altitude. The highest point of the highway is at Ticlio, at more than 4000 meters above sea level.

We recommend that you leave Lima early in the morning and have breakfast before your departure.
